I’ll admit – I’ve been completely hooked lately playing Facebook poker. That Zynga poker game is just so addictive its crazy!
I thought it was just me, but it looks as though all my friends (and even their parents!) have joined the craze as well. The last couple of days, I’ve been shoving food into my mouth just so that I can get back to the laptop and play another hand.
The game works the same way as normal poker (well, Texas Hold ‘Em anyway). You sit down with your Facebook friends are random people on the internet and play your hand. You can customise your avatar – I’m currently sporting shades and a cowboy hat, Doyle style – interact via chat and use the in game currency to trade. I went bust fairly quickly, but I was able to get more Facebook poker chips from Gagachips.com, the credits were in my account in just a few minutes, which I thought was great customer service.
Naturally, as with all things internet, you have to deal with you fair share of trolls. Throw in a couple of nerd rages here and there and not forgetting the poker elitism that exists, sometimes playing isn’t that enjoyable. That’s why I mainly enjoy playing with friends and family, but if you ever get into that situation where people are getting angry or abusing you left right and center, finish your hand, deal yourself out and do something else. Don’t feed the trolls!
Other than that, it’s been a great stress reliever for me and I’m actually getting pretty good at it now! I’m oversharing a bit with my instagram followers though; I keep sharing my winning hands and my triumphs (keep this up and I’ll reveal my strategy!). But if you want to catch me on FB and even play a few hands with me, just let me know!
